Three teenagers have been charged with second-degree murder and a fourth suspect is being urged to turn himself in following the death of a 49-year-old man found suffering from gunshot wounds outside The Voice Lounge in Vaughan.
York Regional Police were called to the plaza at 3850 Steeles Ave. W. on Friday, Sept. 21, shortly after 8 p.m. following the sounds of gunshots. The victim, Behget Toma Eyup, died of multiple gunshot wounds.
Numerous people were seen fleeing from the scene in a vehicle. Toronto Police Service located the suspect vehicle in Toronto and three suspects were taken into custody. Shaqwan Reid, 18, a 16-year-old male and a 15-year-old male, all from Toronto, were charged with second-degree murder.
Police are urging a fourth suspect to seek legal counsel and turn himself in immediately. Anyone who aids or assist this suspect in escaping or evading police could be faces accessory after the fact charges, they remind.
Police are appealing to any witnesses who may have seen or heard anything in the area leading up to or following the shooting, any nearby businesses or residences with video surveillance and any drivers who may have dashcam footage.
