Join friends, neighbours and fellow hockey fans as the Stanley Cup comes to Aurora. The town will be welcoming home Aurora native and NHL Champion Robert Thomas of the St. Louis Blues on July 29. The right winger will be in Aurora as he celebrates his team’s first-ever Stanley Cup win.
The Stanley Cup is on a tour across North America and Europe as it spends a full day with every player and coach on the St. Louis Blues team. During this tour, the Cup will travel more than 28,000 miles from July 1 to August 25.
The Town of Aurora is hosting a free community celebration with Thomas on July 29 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Machell Park. The event will include on-site food vendors, hockey-themed family activities and entertainment. The Stanley Cup will be on-site with Thomas from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Visitors can park at Wellington Public School and Aurora High School along with limited parking on-site.
The event was made possible through partnerships with York-Simcoe Express, St. Andrew’s College, Aurora Sports Hall of Fame, Central York Girls Hockey Association, Aurora Tigers Minor Hockey Association, Aurora Tigers, Junior A Hockey Club and U-Sports.
