The Whitchurch-Stouffville Softball Association (WSSA) has been providing a fun, community-based softball experience for children and youth for more than 50 years.
“This upcoming season will be filled with lots of fun and opportunity for skill development for all of our players,” promises WSSA secretary Rosanna Garganis.
Programs are available for all ages and skill levels through its House League, Select, and Rep Programs.
Recreational softball is offered at the House League level and the commitment is generally one game a week starting in mid-May and finishing mid to late August with a year-end tournament. The emphasis at this level is on fun fair play, basic skill development, and teaching an appreciation for the game. –
The Select Fastball program plays under the “Sharks” banner and consists primarily of tournament teams that compete in one-day tournaments throughout the summer. Select players are required to also play House League and will typically practice an additional night of the week with some exhibition games.
The Stouffville Storm teams are competitive Rep Fastball travel teams that typically play in a competitive loop, as well as various OASA tournaments.
“’We really have teams to satisfy kids and youth of all ages and talent levels,” adds Garganis.
Registration for the House League program has started and will go until divisions fill up. If you are interested in the Rep or Select Programs or have any questions, visit www.wssa.ca or contact [email protected]
