This year, York Regional Police along with local fire and paramedic emergency personnel will be getting a close shave for the Be A Hero campaign to fight childhood cancer.

The head-shaving event is in support of the Southlake Paediatric Oncology Clinic, which sees more than a thousand patient visits every year from children facing cancer.

The Be A Hero head shave runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on April 6 at Upper Canada Mall, located at 17600 Yonge St. at Davis Drive West in Newmarket. Visit yrp.ca/BeAHero to participate or donate.

Participants can pay a $50 registration fee or fundraise a minimum of $150. To download a pledge form, click here.
