Residents are aware of the negative effect COVID-19 has had on businesses that they regularly frequent. Many are less aware that non-profit organizations have also been hit hard to due the pandemic.
At this time, Evergreen Hospice continues to raise funds to support their palliative care services for people living in Markham, Stouffville and Thornhill. The organization is launching Cycle For Life, a new virtual event.
Cycle For Life takes place from August 1 until August 30. You can join up and get sponsors or create a team. You can choose from 1, 5, 10, 20, 35 and 50-km routes. Cycle, motorcycle, rollerblade, skateboard, run, swim laps of pool, jog or whatever you like for 1, 5, 10, 20, 35 or 50 kms. Donations will be accepted for this event until September 13.
