Family Nights provide fun for kids and supports local hospital

Wednesday night dinners just got a lot easier – and more fun – for families with young children in Stouffville.

McDonald’s franchisees use their restaurants as a hub for the community to come together, have fun and more importantly, help to give back.

“Supporting families is at the heart of what we do,” says McDonald’s local owner and operator, Marcia Finlayson. “Every day, through our restaurants, we are able to support families staying at Ronald McDonald Houses and Family Rooms in our region.”

Customers can help by donating at the kiosk or coin box and by purchasing a happy meal or an RMHC Cookie.

Families have always been at the core of McDonald’s values, and these Family Nights have been a way to provide additional value for customers with children.

Last year, RMHC Toronto supported over 300 families in the local communities where Finlayson’s restaurants are located. The Finlayson’s york region restaurants raised $165,000 for the Ronald McDonald Family Room at the Markham Stouffville Hospital on McHappy Day in 2019.

Beyond its charitable aspect, guests who attend Family Nights also enjoy free activities like colouring, classic games like Snakes n’ Ladders, playing cards and balloons.

Parents love Family Nights too because it’s a well-deserved break from their routine. While being hosted by McDonalds’ valued Guest Experience leaders, parents can unwind and have a fun meal with their children.

Finlayson says her Guest Experience leaders also really enjoy getting to lead special activities for the Happy Meal crowd. Through value-added touches such as table service and storytelling, McDonald’s shows itself as a family-focused, engaged and quality-driven brand dedicated to enhancing every family’s experience.

“It’s all-around a great night for parents to come out with their kids, let loose, have fun and spend quality family time together,” Finlayson says.

McDonald’s Family Nights run from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. every Wednesday at participating restaurants, including the McDonald’s location at 28 Sandiford Drive in Stouffville.
