Police are looking for additional victims after a father and son have been charged with human trafficking.
A female victim told York Regional Police she had been against her will, sexually assaulted and told she’d have to work in the sex trade following a January 24 call to Vaughan Inn at 6700 Hwy. 7 regarding unknown trouble.
Courtney McEwan, 53, of Brampton was arrested on March 11 in Peel Region in relation to that incident. He was charged with procuring to provide sexual services for consideration, sexual assault, forcible confinement, assault causing bodily harm, fail to comply with release order and fail to comply with undertaking.
On February 23, Tyron McEwan was charged with trafficking in persons, material benefit from trafficking in persons, material benefit from sexual services, advertising sexual services, withholding or destroying documents in relation to trafficking in persons, and fraud under $5,000. Police had been investigating him since June 2019 after a victim reported being forced to work in the sex trade.
