Food Truck Frenzy is back! The fact that road construction prevents Main St. from being the venue will be of little concern to most. In fact, the Memorial Park venue is probably even better for merchants and attendees.
With fingers crossed for a dry and pleasant evening from 5-9 pm on Friday, September 15, the popular invasion of all things tasty promises to be an even better experience for those looking to escape cooking for the family. Even better, the wildly coloured food trucks with cheeky names, that will number over 20 this year promise a full roster of unique treats from all over the world, including many vegetarian options, so you and the kids can explore foods that mom or dad never make.
Savour decadent deliciousity from Fully Loaded T.O. (ridiculously creative chicken dishes), Wickedly Sinful (gourmet poutine), Stuttering Johns (slow-smoked meats) and Get Skewered (tropical, Asian and other “healthy treats”) are among the culinary artists that will ply their trade and tempt your diet-denying conscience.
Most of us can’t eat for 4 hours straight, so you’d hope there is more to do and there is. Entertainment will be on hand including headliner, Thornhill-based pop-rock powerhouse, Stacey Renee and her band will perform. Renee, who performed last year, impressed the sizeable crowds that showed up last year and will, no doubt, wow them again.
It’s time to savour the smells and the music again. Enjoy.
