Latcham Art Centre (LAC) is excited to announce Latcham Saturdays, a weekly opportunity to learn, get creative and engage with art through hands-on art activities, live-artist demonstrations, tours with the curator and more. Whether you’re an experienced art viewer or maker, or a first-time visitor, Latcham Saturdays is for you and it all starts Sept. 15.
“This program is about bringing our community together through art and making sure our visitors have a great all-around experience,” says Tessa McDougall, LAC event and outreach coordinator. “These diverse art events will provide opportunities to learn about art through self-discovery, collaboration, and directly from professional artists and art educators.”
“There are so many ways to view and experience art and we want to capture that with Latcham Saturdays,” she adds. “As we continue to build this program, we hope to expand our community’s understanding of contemporary art and create more opportunities to learn and talk about the ideas shared by artists.”
All are welcome to participate as Latcham Saturdays kicks off with a free, hands-on art activity inspired by LAC’s current exhibition, Anthropocene, by Jaime Angelopoulos and Derrick Piens.
