A 25-year-old Vaughan man identified in the media as Francesco ‘Franky’ Colacci is dead following a collision between a motorcycle and a KIA SUV.
“I will always remember him for his beautiful smile that just warmed your heart,” Audry Murphy wrote on the Catholic Cemeteries & Funeral Services website. In a Facebook tribute, Allisa Sinclair called Colacci her “handsome guardian angel.”
On Friday, August 10, 2018, at approximately 11:40 p.m., York Regional Police responded to a collision involving two vehicles in the intersection of Major Mackenzie Drive and Wellness Way. The motorcycle driver succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The driver of the KIA, a 70-year-old woman, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Colacci is survived by his parents, Tony and Vicky, twin John (Hunter) and ‘love of his life,’ Amanda. Visitation will take place Tuesday, Aug. 14 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, Aug. 15 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home, 211 Langstaff Rd. E., Thornhill. Funeral mass is Thursday, Aug. 16 at 11:30 a.m. at Chapel of St. Joseph in Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home.
