Indigenous Festival returns to Aurora June 1

Join hundreds of spectators celebrating the New Beginnings community Pow Wow on Saturday, June 1 from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Lambert Willson Park located at 135 Industrial Parkway North in Aurora.

The Pow wow promotes cultural pride in an inclusive setting and play an important role in many Indigenous peoples’ lives. The Pow wow also serves as a forum to share Indigenous heritage with the surrounding communities. All residents and visitors are invited to join this celebration. The theme of the New Beginnings Pow Wow is Honouring Our Elders.

The New Beginnings Pow Wow will feature traditional dancing, drumming, and food. Performers leading the event will be:
• Host Drum: Bluestone
• Head Male Dancer: Farley Eaglespeaker
• Head Female Dancer: Pam Plain
• Grass Dance Special: Farley Eaglespeaker
