Join Local Enhancement & Appreciation of Forests (LEAF) for an upcoming tree tour in Richmond Hill. Friends of the forest will gather at Lake Wilcox Park on Tuesday, September 17, from 6 pm to 7:30 pm. Lake Wilcox is the largest kettle lake in the Oak Ridges Moraine and is home to a variety of native wildlife and vegetation. The tour group will explore the history of Lake Wilcox through its native tree species.
The park is located at 12895 Bayview Ave. Participants are asked to meet at the trailhead at the north-west corner of the Oak Ridges Community Centre. This event is in partnership with the City of Richmond Hill.
LEAF’s Tree Tours are 90 minute guided walks that take place across Toronto and York Region. Each tour highlights the interesting trees and natural features of a particular neighbourhood. The organization suggests a donation of $10 per person for the tour.
Remember to bring water and dress for the weather.
