Loaded handgun, illegal drugs seized in traffic stop

A 20-year-old Toronto man faces numerous charges after York Regional Police found a loaded handgun and a variety of illegal drugs in his vehicle during a traffic stop in Vaughan.

On June 18, police stopped a vehicle near Forest Fountain Drive and Sonoma Boulevard that was being driven by a man believed to be involved in trafficking illegal drugs.

In addition to finding the handgun, police found substances believed to be purple heroin, cocaine and methamphetamine. A search warrant executed at the accused’s residence turned up a quantity of fentanyl.

Brian Musa has been charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition in a motor vehicle, trafficking a controlled substance, five counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and fail to comply with recognizance. He’s being held in custody and scheduled for a bail hearing on June 24.
