Man assaulted in Richmond Hill carjacking

A man was assaulted and forced to hand over the keys to his Porsche Cayenne in Richmond Hill on Friday morning, police report.

The apparent carjacking took place in the parking lot at 16th Avenue and Spadina Road at about 7:30 a.m., York Regional Police say. The victim was walking towards one of the businesses when a man approached him demanding his keys. The owner of the Porsche reports being assaulted and suffered minor injuries.

The suspect, who fled in the car going west on 16th Avenue, is described as black, about five foot 10 inches with a muscular build. He’s in his early twenties and was wearing a dark blue jacket and a black scarf covering his face. The stolen vehicle is a 2014 four-door, dark burgundy-coloured Porsche Cayenne with the licence plate BNRN238.
