A 23-year-old man has been charged in connection with sexual assaults against a child in a home daycare.
York Regional Police (YRP) began an investigation on June 21 after receiving a report regarding sexual assaults against a girl that took place between 2014 and 2018. Karim Saad of Richmond Hill was charged the next day with sexual assault times five and sexual interference – under 16 times five.
A home daycare was operated in the accused’s family home near Bayview and Palmer Avenues in Richmond Hill for many years, police report. The accused will appear in court in Newmarket on July 26.

A sexual assault includes any non-consensual contact of a sexual nature. YRP encourages anyone who believes they may have been a victim of a sexual assault to report the incident to police. There’s no statute of limitations for sexual offences and offenders can be prosecuted well after the date of the offence.
