Police are looking for three male suspects after a 22-year-old man was found dead following a daylight shooting in a church parking lot in Whitchurch-Stouffville.
York Regional Police were called to the parking lot of Churchill Community Church near Ninth Line and Aurora Road on Wednesday, March 27, shortly after 3 p.m. for a reported shooting. The victim, Alex Perlmutter of Sutherland, was reportedly found lying between two parked cars.
The first suspect is described as black with cornrows in his hair and wearing a camo sweater and track pants. He was armed with a gun. The second suspect was wearing blue shoes and was shorter than the other suspects. The third suspect was wearing a large chain and is the same height as the first suspect. They made off in a black or dark-coloured SUV.
Anyone who may have seen or heard anything in the area is asked to contact police.
