Investigators with the York Regional Police Special Victim’s Unit- Sexual Assault Section have charged a 36-year-old man from the City of Markham following a sexual assault investigation.
On December 22, 2018, an investigation began after a victim contacted police to report he had been sexually assaulted at a party the night before by a man who had been known to him for several years.
Through the investigation, officers located a second victim who reported he had been sexually assaulted by the suspect at a party in December 2017 as well. The suspect was arrested and has since been charged.
The accused is currently employed as a secondary school teacher and coach with the York Catholic District School Board. Investigators would like to speak to anyone who has any information that may assist in the investigation and ensure that there are no further victims
Anthony Ganuelas, 36, of the City of Markham has been charged with two counts of sexual assault and will appear in a Newmarket court on January 23rd.
