The Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville’s population is about to grow after municipal council approved a number of development applications.
Ballymore Developments in Ballantrae plans to build 76 single detached houses and 18 townhouses on Hwy. 48 north of Aurora Road just south of Ballantrae Golf and Country Club.
Also on the horizon are 52 townhouses at the corner of Main Street and Eastern Gate Crescent. The property is currently home to the Stouffville Pentecostal Church building on the west and a single detached dwelling to the northeast. Council says it has addressed residents’ concerns, promising roads will be cleaned regularly and construction traffic will be minimal.
Fieldgate Development plans to build a subdivision of 317 single detached houses, 14 live-work townhouses and 151 residential townhouses between 10th Line and York/Durham Line south of Mantle Avenue. Finally, council also approved plans to build a subdivision of 75 freehold townhouses at 5825 Main Street near the CIBC.
