Latcham Art Centre hosts the graduating class of Stouffville District Secondary School (SDSS) in the exhibition Organized Chaos.
The grade twelve art students from SDSS – with direction from the art centre’s curator –have showcased artwork from this year’s first semester in a professional exhibition.
These students represent the next generation of artists from the Whitchurch-Stouffville community and this exhibition offers a space for them to share their talents and creativity with the public.
In addition to creating works that respond to the education curriculum, students are also responsible for conceiving a curatorial theme for their exhibition and carrying out all related tasks such as marketing, design, and installation.
Don’t miss the opportunity to see how the grade twelve students of SDSS reflect on this theme and celebrate self-expression and individuality through art. The exhibition runs until January 4.
Inspired by modernism, the students elected to explore different states of emotion and self-expression by incorporating personal experiences and discoveries into their works.
Artist Avery Lawrance stated that as a class, “we have made many pieces, ranging from large ceramic spoons, surrealist pencil drawings, and fascinating sculptural works.”
