Police identify suspect in grocery store hold-up

A 54-year-old man is wanted in connection with the armed robbery of a grocery store in Vaughan.

The suspect entered Fortinos near Hwy. 27 and Langstaff Road on Tuesday, Sept. 17 around 8 a.m., approached a cashier and demanded cash while brandishing a handgun, York Regional Police report.

The man made off with undisclosed quantity of cash and fled the area in a blue, four-door Honda Civic. No one was physically injured in the incident.

Police used video surveillance to identify the suspect as Shawn Chaulk of no fixed address. He is described as white; five-feet, nine-inches tall; 160 pounds; with short blonde hair, a scruffy beard and bad teeth.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. Call 9-1-1 immediately if you spot him.
