A 19-year-old man considered armed and dangerous is wanted in connection with the robbery of a teenager in Newmarket.
On Friday, Sept. 14, shortly before 8 p.m., a 17-year-old male approached a York Regional Police officer in the area of Eagle Street and Davis Drive and reported being the victim of an armed robbery.
The victim said he had been approached by a man on United Circle, which is in the area of Yonge Street and Mulock Drive, who demanded his belongings. The suspect showed the victim a handgun and the victim complied, police report.
Kevin Bishop of Newmarket is wanted for robbery using a firearm, pointing a firearm, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and uttering threats. Police have released an image of the suspect and are appealing to the public for any information on his whereabouts.
The suspect is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. If you see him, call 9-1-1 immediately, police warn.
