Police seek armed suspect wearing gorilla mask

York Regional Police are looking for a man who was carrying a gun and wearing a gorilla-like mask in a bank robbery in Vaughan on Friday, June 15.

Officers were called to a bank in the Bathurst Street and Steeles Avenue West area at about 1:10 p.m. after receiving a report of an armed robbery. The suspect entered the bank wearing the mask and brandishing a handgun, obtained a quantity of cash and fled the bank travelling eastbound on foot.

No one was injured during the incident, police report. The suspect is described as five-feet, 10-inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing dark pants, dark long-sleeved shirt with hood pulled up and a gorilla-like mask over his face. He was carrying a black bag.
