Local singer Vicki Lovelee is taking listeners on a journey with her in her newly released single called Summer is Fallin.
“My goal is to take music listeners on a journey with me – a journey to self love and compassion,” Lovelee said. “In order to get there, we must dive into our painful experiences. Only then will we be able to learn and grow.”
She just released Summer Is Fallin which marks the beginning of this journey that starts from pain and ends in happiness and growth.
“As I pave my way through the music industry as a Chinese-Canadian, I feel it is important to spread a message in my songs,” Lovelee said. “A message of compassion (to ourselves and others), acceptance of all identities and cultures, and allowing ourselves to be vulnerable so we can become strong.”
Lovelee graduated from Markham District High School and became a York University alumni in 2017, where she studied Jazz Vocal Performance. Since then, she has worked various roles in the music industry such as a stage manager at Canadian Music Week and a social media marketer at Tone Labs Music. In 2019, the singer decided to pursue her dream of being a pop artist.
