Store employee struck in face with handgun

An employee at a Richmond Hill convenience store was taken to hospital after being struck in the face with a handgun during a recent holdup.

Two men entered the store on Tower Hill Road on Friday, Dec. 7 at about 9:40 p.m., according to York Regional Police. One of the men reportedly told the employee he was being robbed and ordered him to get down on the ground.

One of the suspects struck the victim with a gun while the second suspect smashed the cash register open on the floor. They obtained a quantity of cash and fled the area.

The first suspect is described as black with a medium build. His face was partially covered with a black and white mask and he was wearing dark-coloured clothing and brandishing a gun. The second suspect is described as black and was wearing dark-coloured clothing.
