Police seek public assistance to identify a suspect following an armed break and enter into a home in the City
of Richmond Hill, west of Yonge Street and just south of Stouffville Rd.
On Wednesday, June 3, 2020, York Regional Police were called to a residence on Albright Crescent
for a weapons call. Information was received that a suspect armed with a handgun had broken into a
residence, threatened the homeowner and then fled. When officers arrived they found the victim, a
43-year-old woman, who was not physically injured.
The investigation has revealed that at approximately 4 a.m., a vehicle pulled into the driveway of
the home and a suspect exited the vehicle and went to the front door. The suspect used a hammer to
break the glass beside the door, then reached in and unlocked the door. The noise woke up the
victim and she met the suspect at the top of the stairs. The suspect pointed the handgun at the
victim and threatened her. He then claimed that he got the wrong house and fled.
The suspect is described as male, black, 25 to 30 years old, 6′, thin build and was wearing a white hooded jacket.
