Suspect sought in Aurora sex assault

A suspect who was possibly armed with a firearm is being sought following the sexual assault of a teenage girl in Aurora.

The victim was walking the trails west of John West Way north of Wellington Street on Monday, June 24 at 11:50 a.m. when she was approached, assaulted and sexually assaulted by the man, York Regional Police report.

The victim was taken to hospital for her injuries. Emergency response and canine units attended the scene to try locate the suspect, who is in his early twenties, with a light brown skin tone and thin build. He was wearing a black shirt, black pants and a red baseball hat.
