Celebrate summer at the 4th annual Taste of Stouffville for Evergreen Hospice event from noon to 11 p.m. on August 25 at Memorial Park. The event is a stop on the York Region Festival Trail.
Food is at the heart of the event. Local eateries will be offering an assortment of barbequed fare and sweets to delight the palate. A selection of local craft brewers will be on hand as well. The family-friendly festival also offers a kids’ fun zone, petting zoo and adult games.
One of the highlights of the festival is the live music, coordinated by Epidemic Music Group (of Guinness World Record fame). The afternoon starts with Cory Feighen, followed by the Jay Dee Band, Sarah Carmosino, Laurelle Augustyn and Lemon Steps. The Beresfords will then kick it up a notch for a backyard barbecue feel, with Future History performing next, and finally, the Professors of FUNK will fill the park with their classic funk, R&B, soul and Motown sound.
A minimum five dollar donation is requested for entry. Children under the age of 16 are free. Food, games and drinks are sold separately. Please note, no smoking or pets are allowed on the grounds.
All proceeds go to Evergreen Hospice to provide support services (at no cost to the client) for people in Stouffville, Markham and Thornhill, who are living with a life-threatening illness or loss of a loved one. For more than 25 years, Evergreen has helped people of all ages who are affected by a life-threatening illness or grief, while respecting their culture, faith and language.
