If you’re planning to give your home a facelift this fall but don’t know where to start, you may want to take your cue from paint manufacturers that have already made their 2019 colour predictions.
PPG was the first to name the Colour of the Year 2019 and selected Night Watch, a deep hunter green. “Night Watch is about bringing the healing power from the outdoors into your home through colour,” says Dee Schlotter, PPG senior colour marketing manager.
The colour can be used in a variety of rooms and design segments – from health care to commercial and residential design, PPG says. It can also be incorporated as a focal accent wall in a bedroom or dining room.
Behr Paint’s 2019 colour of the year is Blueprint, a mid-tone blue. Described as “warmer than denim and softer than navy,” it’s reminiscent of the blueprints builders use to bring architectural designs to life. The colour works with such palettes as blue, teal and grey; taupe and brown; near-neutrals like powder blue and tinted lilac; and jewel hues.
