Witnesses sought after teen stabbed at restaurant on Yonge St.

On February 24 shortly after 4 p.m., officers responded to a report of a stabbing
that had occurred in a restaurant located at 13233 Yonge Street, in the area of Yonge Street and
Elm Grove Avenue (between Stouffville Rd. and Bloomington Rd.)

When officers arrived, they located the victim, a 16-year-old male, suffering
from stab wounds. He was transported to hospital for treatment of his injuries and is expected to
survive.

Investigators believe that an altercation occurred in the parking lot of the plaza. During the
altercation the victim was stabbed and made his way to the restaurant to call police.

Officers are asking any witnesses who may have been in the area at the time who have not yet spoken
to police to please come forward. Investigators are also seeking any video surveillance from the
area or anyone that may have captured dashcam video on the roadways in the area of any of the
incidents.

York Regional Police reminds residents and business owners in our community they can partner with

Registry gives members of the community the option to let York Regional Police know they have
installed residential or commercial security cameras, which may assist police if a crime later
occurs in that area.

yrp.ca/RegisterMyCam and complete the brief online registration form to add their cameras to the
registry. Upon completing the form, participants will also be asked to verify their email address
in order to complete the registration.
